A scene from the vital training exercise
Some of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team’s Swiftwater Rescue Technicians met with colleagues from Rossendale and Pendle MRT, and teams from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, for a joint water rescue exercise.
As well as a detailed river search, the training included recovery of a person trapped and injured in the water and, a person fallen into a deep pool unable to get out.
All of the teams worked well together and gained a greater understanding of each others' skills and resources.
“Inter-agency training is essential so we work effectively together when people need us most,” said an OMRT spokesperson.
