Circus Sensible put on a great show
A supreme effort by dedicated community champions brought a magical circus and Easter market to Grotton Pavilion.
The Grotton Residents Association and Lees, Springhead and Grotton (LSG) Business Hub joined forces to ensure a fantastic fun-filled day for the community.
It was a sell out Circus show with Tik and Tok, Circus Sensible teaching children and adults a range of circus skills and everyone loved the opportunity to try out their own juggling, plate spinning and hula hoop skills.
Stalls offered a wide range of goods including jewellery, 3D articulated creatures, gardening ornaments, homemade baked goods, toys and handmade bespoke cushions.
There was also a tombola, raffle, face painting, name the bear and a selection of tasty refreshments.
The Easter Bonnet competition saw local children parading their beautiful creative hats.
Everyone received an Easter gift and the three winners received goody bags, all sponsored by Kip McGrath Saddleworth Tutoring, Matthew James Furniture and Apollo's Greek Restaurant.
Anna Oldfield and Karen Jakeman, who collaborated on the idea, said: "It was great to see so many people having such a good time and especially to receive such positive feedback, with stallholders and the community alike already asking if we would be running the event again, which makes all the hard work worthwhile.
“We would like to thank all those who supported us and stallholders, local businesses and all of our volunteers, without whom, events like this wouldn't be possible.
"Last but not least, a big thank you to Circus Sensible for putting on a great show."
The next big event at the Grotton Pavilion will be a music event in August, to celebrate Grotton Resident’s Association 90th anniversary, with a range of artists, DJ, refreshments, and fun for all the family.
