Oldham Total Care staff wanted to put on a memorable day to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day
There was a huge VE Day celebration at Oldham Total Care in Chadderton.
Oldham Total Care is a large nursing home in Chadderton with over 100 residents.
The staff wanted to put on a memorable day to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, and in the end it was a truly special event, made even more meaningful by the warm sunshine and wonderful community spirit on the day.
As part of the celebration, staff arranged for one of its own team members, Shane Doyle, to perform a set of classic wartime-era songs - his performance was a real highlight and had everyone singing along!
Event highlights included:
• Live wartime-era music and singalongs (including a performance by LB Telecom’s Shane Doyle)
• Tea, cake, and refreshments for all guests
• Remembrance moments honouring local veterans
• A community gathering with residents, staff, and guests
• Festive decorations and classic VE Day nostalgia
Everyone in attendance had a blast, and it was heartwarming to see so many smiles.
For proud day sponsors LB Telecom, this was more than just an event - it was a chance to give back and say thank you to those who served, and to bring joy to the residents of Oldham Total Care in a truly heartfelt way.
