Jason Chadwick appointed as new headteacher at Lyndhurst Primary

Date published: 29 May 2025

Lyndhurst Primary School has announced the appointment of Jason Chadwick as its new Headteacher, beginning September 2025.

A dedicated educator with deep roots in Oldham and a proven track record across Focus-Trust schools, Jason brings both experience and passion to the role.

Having begun his teaching career in Oldham in 2012, Jason’s first role was at Freehold Primary School, where he led Key Stage One and later became Assistant Head.

He then spent five years as Assistant Head at Deeplish Primary, gaining invaluable experience across diverse school settings.

His most recent post was Deputy Head at Old Trafford Community Academy.

Jason’s appointment marks a significant milestone for Lyndhurst Primary, which is looking to drive school improvement and raise attainment.

As someone who was born and raised in Oldham, Jason is personally invested in the school’s success and the broader ambition to change perceptions of what is possible for children in the town.

Jason’s leadership philosophy is grounded in teamwork, shared goals, and never losing touch with the classroom.

Despite his senior roles, he continues to teach one day a week to stay connected with pupils and staff.

His commitment to education was born during a Year 10 work experience placement at a local primary school, where he fell in love with teaching.

Jason said: “Oldham is often viewed through the lens of disadvantage, but there’s no reason our children shouldn’t achieve just as highly as anywhere else.

“The goal is clear: understand what’s holding us back and work together to raise outcomes.

"If our team succeeds, our children succeed, and that’s what it’s all about.”

Lyndhurst Primary School forms part of Focus-Trust, a charitable primary school trust based in the North West of England and West Yorkshire that aims to provide great schools at the heart of communities where all children flourish.
