Police officers responded to reports of a group of men fighting on Market Street
Police officers are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured during an altercation in Shaw.
At around 8.25pm on Sunday night (June 15), officers responded to reports of a group of men fighting on Market Street.
Upon arrival, one man was discovered with a serious slash injury, and was subsequently taken to hospital.
Thankfully, his injures are not believed to be life-threatening or changing.
An investigation was immediately launched and three men were subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray offences.
They remain in custody for questioning.
As officers continue with their enquiries, they are now appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.
This includes any relevant CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the area at the time, or anyone who may have witnessed any of the incident.
Detective Inspector Roberto Dicorato, from GMP's Oldham district, said: "We are still investigating the full circumstances of last night's incident and have already made a number of arrests.
"As this work continues, we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.
"Your information could greatly assist with our ongoing work - and you can choose to come to us directly or anonymously."
