Hulme Grammar School set to host 2025 Higher Education and Apprenticeships Fair
Date published: 28 June 2025

The event is designed to open students’ eyes to the wide range of options available after school
Hulme Grammar School has announced details of its 2025 Higher Education and Apprenticeships Fair, which will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
The event is designed to open students’ eyes to the wide range of options available after school - whether they aspire to university, apprenticeships, or the world of work.
With demand for apprenticeships growing rapidly across the UK, Hulme is committed to showcasing the high-quality opportunities available both locally and nationally.
From advanced apprenticeships in engineering and digital technologies to degree-level programmes with global firms, this fair will help students understand the real-world routes into careers that don’t always begin with university.
At the same time, the fair will bring together universities from across the UK - from Russell Group institutions to international specialists - giving students in Oldham and Greater Manchester direct access to representatives from leading higher education providers.
Exhibitors confirmed so far include:
Rochdale Council
Lancaster University
Keele University
Plus 11+ organisations already confirmed, with more being added every day
Students will also benefit from a series of interactive seminar-style talks that offer practical guidance on critical areas of post-16 and post-18 planning:
Applying to international universities
A must for globally-minded students: understand application processes, deadlines, and funding options for studying in the US, Europe, and beyond.
Student finance made simple
Learn how tuition fees, maintenance loans, and bursaries work—and what support is available for students from different backgrounds.
Boosting employability skills
Discover how to stand out in applications and interviews, and how to start building transferable skills from school age onwards.
Apprenticeship pathways
With employers across Greater Manchester and beyond offering high-quality apprenticeships, this session will demystify the process, highlight success stories, and explain how students can earn while they learn.
