Royton and Crompton Academy cadets do locals proud when marking Armed Forces Day

It was great to see people of all ages getting together to celebrate and raise money for such a great cause
Combined Cadet Force Cadets from Royton and Crompton Academy helped raise money and awareness of Armed Forces Day by donning their uniforms proudly and walking around Royton town centre, giving away free steak pasties from Pound Bakery to members of the public.
Many people came over to talk to the Cadets and told them how much they respected what they were doing and appreciated them celebrating such a special event.
Later, Sgt Bernie Cummins and Sgt Kristina Moss continued the celebrations in Springfield Park in Rochdale with the CCF Cadets, where amongst other Army Cadets, Sea Cadets, Marines, brass bands, bikers and many others, they all supported Armed Forces Day.
It was great to see people of all ages getting together to celebrate and raise money for such a great cause and support our Armed Forces and their families, both past and present.
A spokesperson said: "A fantastic weekend was had by all and another great event where the CCF Cadets from Royton and Crompton Academy did us really proud."
