A Saddleworth village was transformed into a whimsical wonderland during August, captivating families and visitors, and all in support of a fundraising initiative.
The Dobcross Fairy Garden Trail was organised by the industrious team from Friends of Dobcross School (FODS) and offered visitors charming fairy doors to imaginative woodland scenes.
The trail brought nursery rhymes to life with enchanting displays crafted by local residents.
The creativity and community spirit was magical, with each stop along the trail sparking delight and wonder.
And special thanks went to the Dobcross residents whose dedication and flair turned the village into a storybook setting.
Their themed displays, inspired by classic nursery rhymes, showcased the power of collaboration - and a sprinkle of fairy dust.
Local businesses played a key role in the event’s success.
The Lime Kiln, Dobcross Village Store, The Band Club and The Swan all supported the trail by selling maps to guide visitors.
Particular appreciation goes to The Lime Kiln and Dobcross Village Store, who went the extra mile by creating their own displays, drawing in crowds and generating interest.
FODS expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone, saying: “Your generosity and enthusiasm helped turn a creative idea into a truly impactful event."
FODS hope to have not only to have created a memorable experience, but also made a meaningful contribution to the school fundraising goals, with £476 being raised.
And, they say, with such strong community support and imagination, Dobcross has once again shown small villages can make a big difference.
