After the roaring success of Bugsy Malone last year, students from Hathershaw College are back - and this time, they're getting a little bit naughty!
The school has announced its latest whole-school production: Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical Jr, to be performed at Oldham Sixth Form College on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th November 2025.
Featuring a talented cast of students from Years 7 to 11, the production promises to be a riot of colour, energy, and music as Matilda and her classmates take on the terrifying Miss Trunchbull by discovering the power of imagination and standing up for what’s right.
Directed by Mrs L Lott, choreographed by Mrs L Young, with musical direction from Miss K Dawson and stage management by Mrs A Jones, Matilda Jr builds on the momentum of last year’s celebrated production of Bugsy Malone.
Mrs Lott, Drama teacher and director, said: “This year’s production of Matilda Jr. has brought together students from across the school who might never otherwise have met.
"The sense of teamwork, creativity, and resilience on display is inspiring.
"It’s more than just a show - it’s a celebration of what our students can achieve when they’re given the opportunity to shine. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
The show is part of Hathershaw’s ongoing commitment to the arts and is once again being staged at Oldham Sixth Form College, part of the Pinnacle Learning Trust.
