DartSight, an innovative dart player’s alignment system and training (and ‘re-training’) aid designed and developed in Oldham, has been named the Winner of the Innovative Sports Technology of the year Award 2025 by the CorporateLiveWire judging panel.
Created to help dart players of all abilities develop a straighter and more consistent throw, DartSight is already being hailed as a breakthrough in grassroots sports training.
By focusing on biomechanics and muscle memory rather than gimmicks, it enables players to develop their own throwing action and build confidence and consistency at the oche.
Stuart Needham, co-founder of DartSight, said: “Alignment is the fundamental aspect of playing the sport of darts.
DartSight was born here in Oldham out of a simple idea: don’t just tell people what to do, but more importantly show people HOW to do it and give players a tool and some instructional videos that helps them throw straighter, sharper, and better, and be able to see and understand their own alignment.”
Stuart added: “To have that work recognised nationally and internationally with the Innovative Sports Technology of the year Award 2025 is a huge moment - not just for DartSight, but for darts as a sport.”
The CorporateLiveWire Judging panel said of the revolutionary DartSight innovation, that they were: “Particularly impressed by the efforts made by the inventors, David and Stuart Needham to bolster and assist the existing coaching community.
"Coaches are encouraged to become registered DartSight accredited darts coaches, gaining access to the patented system and exclusive coaching resources, including online tutorials, dedicated coaching exercises and the opportunity for live, hourly instruction.”
With darts enjoying a surge in popularity, DartSight’s recognition highlights the UK’s role as a leader in sports innovation.
The product is now set to expand its reach, with growing interest from players, coaches, and organisations nationwide and internationally.
