At around 10:35am yesterday (Monday), neighbours reported hearing a smash and saw three men wearing balaclavas enter a property in Oldham.
Two watches were stolen as well as an attempt to take the homeowner’s Hyundai, which was unsuccessful due to the car’s immobiliser.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police’s Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit (TVIU) quickly identified a vehicle linked to the burglary in West Yorkshire travelling towards Bradford.
When officers tried to stop the car, the suspects fled, leading to a pursuit reaching speeds of up to 105mph.
After a 10-minute pursuit, the vehicle was abandoned at a caravan site and a foot-chase ensued.
Two men were detained, one found hiding inside a caravan.
The men, aged 36 and 44, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
A third man remains wanted.
Police Sergeant Bobby Nasim, from the TVIU, said: “Crimes like this cause real distress to homeowners and the wider community.
"Within an hour of this incident being reported, we had made two arrests.
“The suspects showed no regard for public safety, reaching speeds of up to 105mph during busy morning traffic as they tried to escape.
“We are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist our investigation."
