Broadfield Primary School is proudly celebrating the outcome of it's recent Ofsted inspection, held on 21 and 22 April 2026, which recognised the school's strong commitment to community, pupils' wellbeing, inclusion and personal development. Inspectors found that pupils are happy, safe and proud to be part of the school community, highlighting the positive relationships that exist between staff, pupils and families. The report particularly praised the school's work in supporting children's personal development and wellbeing, awarding this area a ‘Strong Standard’ judgement.
The inspection recognised the school's caring ethos and unwavering focus in putting the needs of children and families first. Inspectors noted that leaders and staff know pupils exceptionally well and work closely with families and external agencies to ensure every child can access the opportunities and support they need to succeed. Inclusion was a particular highlight throughout the inspection with inspectors recognising the school's effective support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, disadvantaged pupils and those facing barriers to learning. Strong partnerships with families and specialist services ensure that children receive timely support and are able to participate fully in school life without boundary.
Pupils were praised for their mature understanding of diversity, respect and understanding of British values, as well as the positive contribution they make to the wider community through school leadership roles (e.g. health champions and assembly monitors), charity work and environmental initiatives. The report also highlighted the wide range of opportunities available to pupils, helping them to develop confidence, ambition and valuable life skills for the future. Inspectors found that pupils behave well, enjoy learning and demonstrate positive attitudes towards school. They described the school environment as calm and orderly, with children feeling safe and supported by trusted adults. Pupils spoke positively about the strong relationships they have with staff and their confidence that any concerns would be addressed quickly and effectively.
The report recognised the school's ambitious curriculum and the engaging experiences provided for pupils, including educational visits, enrichment activities and immersive learning opportunities that help bring the curriculum to life. Teachers were praised for their confident subject knowledge and their ability to support pupils' learning effectively, including those who speak English as a second language and those with additional needs. The Early Years provision was recognised for providing children with a positive start to their education. Inspectors praised the school's focus on communication, language development and early reading, alongside the strong partnerships developed with parents and carers.
Leadership at the school was commended for its clear understanding of the school's strengths and priorities for improvement. Inspectors found that leaders, governors and the school’s trust work collaboratively to ensure that decisions are made in the best interests of pupils and families. Staff wellbeing and professional development were also recognised as key strengths.
The inspection confirmed that safeguarding arrangements are effective, with inspectors recognising the strong culture of safeguarding that exists throughout the school.

These positive relationships form the foundation of an inclusive and ambitious curriculum that inspires pupils to engage fully in their learning. Together, this creates a happy and nurturing school community where pupils are confident, successful and exceptionally well prepared for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
