Twelve members of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were involved in a drama after being called by North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust to assist with a young male who had fallen off his bike at Tandle Hill Country Park on Saturday night.
The team deployed to help the on-scene paramedics transport the casualty from the park to their ambulance.
Once the rescue team were on site, the cyclist was placed in a vacuum mattress to immobilise him, and then carried a short distance on a stretcher to the team vehicle.
After a short drive through the park he was transferred to the ambulance for the onward journey to hospital.
The team were involved for one-and-a-half hours.
