Amy Bent, Year 13 student, has been cast in her first professional show. Amy will play two roles; a witch and a murderer in the Oldham Coliseum’s production of Macbeth. She is currently in the middle of the rehearsal process with the show running from 23 October to 7 November 2026 at Liquid & Envy, Oldham.
Amy is currently studying A Levels in Drama & Theatre Arts, Film Studies and Fine Art and was part of last year's college production, Lights Across the Hudson. She has also recently been cast as a lead role in this year’s production of Coven. Amy has been acting for 3 years now after getting involved in her first production in secondary school starring in a Coop Academies Trust Production and loving it. She regularly teaches drama in local schools to inspire younger children. Amy has also been chosen to be one of the ambassadors for Oldham's year as Greater Manchester’s Town of Culture.
Amy is hoping to pursue a career in the creative industries or progress onto drama school after OSFC. In the short term, she is planning to take a gap year once she has completed her A Level studies to seek representation, continue working with Oldham Theatre Workshop, continuing to teach and she will also be working on film projects with a new and emerging production company (Hall Productions) as a Director / Producer.
Amy is really excited about being cast in Macbeth, “I am really looking forward to playing both roles that I have been cast in. It’s exciting to be putting a new spin on long-standing characters from Shakespeare. I am really enjoying working with the director, Nick Bagnall, too as he is allowing the cast a chance to play around with their characters and explore new ways of bringing them to life.”
