STILL looking for somewhere to welcome in the New Year in style?
Well look no further my friend because there’s one place worth spending tomorrow night if you like your music live and loud.
The Best of The Aftershow New Year’s Eve Special at Moho Live is set to be a night to remember.
Rather than wandering aimlessly across the city centre in search of somewhere that’s not too overpriced, say hello to 2009 with The Shallow Call, Mutineers, The Logicals, Orchids, Karma and The Audibles.
The Shallow Call play ‘energetic, economical and unpretentious pop’ and were asked to support The Charlatans at their recent Ritz gig.
Mutineers didn’t need years of rigorous rehearsals and hours of tweaking chords, they were simply born to produce excellent feel good tunes with a twist.
The Logicals got together in 2005 and quickly developed into one of Manchester’s best unsigned bands and work alongside acclaimed industry insiders such as Denise Johnson (Primal Scream/ Electronic) and Aziz Ibrahim (Stone Roses/Ian Brown).
Orchids create their own blend of indie, country and rock’n’roll and sprinkle a memorable melody over the top. They’ve shared the stage with the likes of The Pigeon Detectives, Milburn and The Paddingtons and count Clint Boon as a huge fan.
Karma fuse blues, psychedelia and pretty much anything else they fancy, to create tunes in the vein of Hendrix, Cream, My Bloody Valentine and Kings of Leon.
The Audibles are clearly proud of their North-West roots and produce classic Manchester indie.
DJ Sean Holland will be providing the tunes before, during and after the bands. In the second room revellers can catch The Void, The Kings, Tombots and Replicants to come along and provide the music.
Advance tickets can be bought at Moho Live in Tib Street until 4pm today.
