What Kati Did next; I’m shot after a night of revellery

Here I am praying for the night to start. Just so I can lie down again.
It started out quite calmly. A quick drink, on to a restaurant, finishing up at a club.
Not much wrong with that considering it was my Bachelorette party as they say in the States, or Stagette party as they say in Canada, it being the simple hen night to us.
There were no cowboy hats, or learner stickers, or veils with balloons hanging from them. There were no japes or jokes and certainly no strippers.
Or at least I don’t think so. Earlier in the night we tripped off to the club all full of fun, laughter and noodles when some bright spark in the group and I’m not naming names but you know who you are, decided it was time to bring out the shots.
Now I know what you’re thinking, we’re old enough to be grandmothers so what the Dickens are we doing throwing shots down our necks like teenagers.
All I can say is it seemed the right thing to do at the time. After the second shot we called it a day with the silly drinks and then someone piped up with something they call a cheeky vimto.
To save you the trouble I’ll tell you it was horrible. So we went from calm to carnage but all safely home. However this morning is a completely different matter. I’m going to let you in on a secret, small children and headaches do not mix.
Attempting to nurse a very queasy stomach while entertaining small children does not mix.
In fact anything to do with getting over the night before and small children absolutely do not mix.
The headache gets worse, the sweats are a little stronger and as I sit here now I wonder how it was possible for me to do this every weekend even when childless.
Holding down a job, holding down a life. I can’t have had much of a weekend, most of it would have been spent with my head over a bowl or on the couch.
Nowadays I’m out and about, walking, swimming, playing with the boy. Today I am on the couch.
If only the night had stayed calm, me and my Stagettes could have been waiting for the day instead of the night to start.
