Roll up for Rug n Tug

AN eclectic night of deck spinning, party anthems and psychadelica is in store for revellers heading to the Rizla Invisible Players tour.

The night will be headlined by New York duo Rug n Tug — also known as Thomas Bullock and Eric Duncan — who are among the world’s best spinners of house and disco.

Gruff Rhys, who headlines Rockness Festival with his band Super Furry Animals next month in Scotland, will also be behind the decks.

The fun starts at 8pm on Saturday at Manchester’s Deaf Institute. Visit www.ticketline.co.uk or www.rizla.co.uk/invisible-players.

Serpico rising

FROM releasing their music independently to refusing to conform, Edinburgh boys Serpico have always done things their way.

They draw on metal, punk and rock for inspiration and to create an emotionally-charged soundtrack to modern living.

Support slots with AFI, Paradise Lost, Elliot Minor and Black Stone Cherry have seen Serpico’s star rise and debut album “Neon Wasteland” is set to see this continue.

Check them out at Manchester’s Music Box next Tuesday (June 9).
