Why? Back in 2007, a group of students decided to stage a festival to celebrate their graduation and the event has snowballed to become one of the biggest events in the Manchester music calendar.

Acts lined up for 2009 include Roots Manuva, The Streets, Finley Quaye, Pendulum and The Freestylers.

As well as the main stage, there will also be a host of up and coming acts keeping revellers entertained.

Punk poet Jon Cooper Clarke will headline the Love Lounge along with Frazer King, Onions, Dirty North and Egyptian Hip Hop.
