FRESH from showing all the youngsters how it’s done at Download Festival, Thunder are once again ready to rock.
The five piece — Danny Bowes (vocals) Luke Morley (guitar) Ben Matthews keyboards) Chris Childs (bass) and Harry James (drums) — will play Manchester Academy on Friday.
The band formed in 1989 and released debut album “Backstreet Symphony” a year later.
Their legendary appearance at the Monsters of Rock Festival at Donnington Park in 1990 cemented their place in the hearts of British rock fans.
In 1999 Thunder split after 10 years together and members pursued various solo projects. In 2006 they reformed for the Monsters of Rock Festival where they played alongside Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Journey and Queensryche.
New albums soon followed and Thunder joined the line up for Download Festival earlier this month.
