CELEBRITY chefs, big name artists and good food . . . Rochdale’s Feel Good Festival promises to be an event to remember.

The free event, which takes place in the town centre on Friday and Saturday, is a celebration of entertainment and culture.

Celebrity chefs Aldo Zilli and Aazam Ahmad will be cooking up a treat hosting live demonstrations throughout the event which will include a two day food market.

Saturday is music day and headlining the main stage in Rochdale town hall square will be The Bluetones who’s hits include “Slight Return” and “Marblehead Johnson”.

Also on the mainstage will be Bristol folk rockers Babel, Liverpool art rock disco favourites Wave Machines and Manchester’s very own The Travelling Band who won Glastonbury’s new talent award.

Oldhamer and former Inspiral Carpet Clint Boon will be MCing and DJing on the main stage keeping all the party people more than happy with some top quality tunes.

The events will take place across eight venues in the town and dozens of acts across the folk, dance, classical, electronica, indie guitar and blues.

The rest of the line-up includes Erland and the Carnival, Magic Arm, Liz Green, Cats In Paris, The Suzukis, Denis Jones, Tim and Sam’s Tim and the Sam Band, Sophie’s Pigeons, Young British Artists, Ivan Campo and Gabriel Prokofiev.

Rochdale bands The Hidden Revolution, who are signed to The Fat Northerner, and Zen Music’s Blues troubadour, Will Tang will represent their town and Manchester DJs Unabombers will finish the night off.
