Lees rapper D-Tox will strut his stuff on stage at the Opus club inside the Printworks in Manchester on Friday.

The 29-year-old, who’s debut album “Rehab” is flying off the shelves at HMV, will join the line-up for “Hiphoperation” which features graffiti artists, DJs and breakdancers from 10pm right through to 4am.

The kind-hearted music maestro is also gearing up for a performance in Blackburn at a charity gig in aid of Sophie Lancaster who was beaten to death in a Bacup park because of her goth clothing.

The show takes place on Saturday, July 25, at The Cellar Bar from noon-2pm with all proceeds going to The Sophie Foundation. D-Tox — otherwise known as Dave Hickey — is now working on a second album.

He has been interviewed for insider football magazine PFA which gets sent to industry members and all players.

After seeing him perform in London, the editor asked D-Tox to submit “Rehab” for review and staff were so impressed they sent Wolves forward Marlon Harewood to interview him for his urban music page.

He said: “It’s a pretty big deal as all footballers from all English clubs will receive a copy.

“I’ll hopefully end up on the coffee tables of the rich and famous such as Robinho, Rooney, Cole and Ferdinand.”
