Gig of the week: Filthy Rich

Where? Castle,

Union Street, Oldham, Saturday

Rude’s monthly residency at the Castle just keeps on getting better.

After five sell-out events, organisers have pulled out all the stops to give Oldham clubbers the night of their life. Filthy Rich, resident DJ at London’s Ministry of Sound and Kissdafunk in Leeds, turned tables in Dubai, Shanghai, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Manilla and Bahrain over the last year as well as regular stints in Ibiza.

As well as being one of the most sought after electro DJs in the world Filthy Rich is also a prolific producer counting Tiesto and Carl Cox as fans. In addition, the jack of all trades has set up Control Freq records which he will use as a springboard for home-grown talent as well as releasing his own productions.

Alongside Filthy Rich in the Main Room will be Rude resident DJs James Teehan, Danny Kay, Bass Jockeys and Simon Heslin.

Oz, Mike Thewlis, Danny Knight, Debbie and Vicki will be spinning the decks in the Back Room. Promoter DJ Oz said: “We are so looking forward to seeing Filthy Rich smash the Castle. He is far and away the biggest guest we have had on so far, a DJ and producer who is in huge demand throughout the world and just to highlight the point, straight after his set at the Castle he is driving down the M62 to Leeds to go on straight after Roger Sanchez.” Advance tickets are £7 from 07771 557 454 and doors open at 11pm.
