Laura’s big break

OLDHAM Theatre Workshop graduate Laura Mac is eagerly awaiting the release of a CD that could turn her life around.
The Failsworth singer, who joined OTW when she was seven, wrote “Take Me” with her fiancee Jonathon Purdey.
The track was taken on by the Ministry of Sound label and will feature on the Wigan Pier compilation album which is due for release on August 17.
Laura has performed all over the country as a solo artist as well as with bands Rouge and Abbarettes.
As a teenager, Laura travelled the world on cruise ships during her time with function group The Right Stuff and she was also part of several Abba tribute bands.
The multi-talented performer also sings with Halle Rock — the brass section of the Hallé Orchestra — as well as entertaining guests at weddings, birthdays and special occasions.
The dance music side of Laura’s career is really taking off with several of her tracks appearing on various compilation CDs.
