West London quartet Mumford and Sons will perform live at Manchester’s Ruby Lounge on Monday.
Their gutsy, old-time sound marries the magic of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young with the might of Kings Of Leon.
The friends (pictured below) were playing in various bands across London before they got together at a sweaty underground open mic night.
They bonded over their love of country, bluegrass and folk and decided to make music that could be both pretty and delicate, while being courageous and enthusiastic at the same time.
The lads soon started to record and release material while touring the country on their mission to become brawnier, bolder and brighter.
When the time came to work on their debut album, Mumford and Sons recruited Markus Dravs, who has previously worked with Arcade Fire, Björk and The Maccabees.
Debut single “Little Lion Man” is out on September 28 followed by album “Sigh No More” next month.
