fans of classic rock have a real treat coming their way in the form of a double-helping of tribute acts — both on the same bill.
AC/DC tribute Livewire are heading for Manchester with their world-renowned explosive performance.
The band, who cover both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras, put extra hours into rehearsals in the hope of creating the perfect reproduction of an AC/DC show.
Cannons, walkways, backdrops and drapes are all part of the Livewire set with attention to detail their key phrase. Lorne Shippen takes on Angus Young’s lead guitar role while Andy Tinker becomes Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar.
John Belford and Grant Foster take on Bon Scott and Brian Johnson respectively. The line-up is completed by Eddie Clarke on bass and drummer Daz Wood.
Meanwhile, Limehouse Lizzy keep the spirit of rock icon Phil Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy alive.
Their action-packed pyrotechnic-filled show has earned them a loyal army of fans worldwide. Their 2009 Spirit of the Black Rose tour aims to capture the paradoxical rocking yet romantic nature of Lynott.
From “Whisky in the Jar” to “The Boys are Back in Town”, Limehouse Lizzy are the ultimate tribute to Thin Lizzy.
Catch both bands at Manchester Academy on Saturday.
