FLORENCE and The Machine only released debut album “Lungs” in July but they’re already on their way to superstardom.
Lead singer Florence Welch and her band — Robert Ackroyd (guitar) Christopher Lloyd Hayden (drums) Isabella Summers (keyboards) and Tom Monger (harp) — won a prestigious Mercury Music Prize nomination.
Incendiary performances at Glastonbury, T in the Park and the Reading/Leeds Festivals cemented the band’s place as rising stars.
Now they’re heading out on their own tour with a stop at Manchester Academy on Friday.
