THE Stranglers enjoyed massive success during their 17-year career with 10 hit albums and 21 top-40 singles.
Songs such as “Golden Brown”, “Peaches’” and “No More Heroes” resonated with UK music lovers.
But nothing lasts forever and in 1990 the time was right for guitarist and singer Hugh Cornwell (pictured) to leave the group.
He has released seven solo albums since 1988 as well as two books. Catch him live at Manchester Academy on Friday.
