Laughs occurring with Dor and Bryn

Channel Hopping: OH, BBC, what’s occurring? You’ve shifted “Gavin and Stacey” to prime-time mainstream. And it’s so lush.

While BBC3 was showing something called “Move Like Michael Jackson” (shouldn’t be too challenging), it was good to see this Welsh rare bit of fun had left the cheese behind and moved to BBC1.

Which is a lot more than can be said of Nessa’s cheddar and pineapple sticks at Neil Noel Edmond’s christening-slash-engagement. Gwen did most of the buffet. Doris — where was that salad? Smiffstarrr and Gavallarrr might clock up the lineage script-wise, but it’s Uncle Bryn and old foul-mouthed Dor who get the best lines.

“Owen Hughes — And do you?” Gav couldn’t fathom. But then the whole moving to Barry thing all seemed a bit too Welsh for the Billericay boy. (In case you were wondering, it’s “do you owe Wayne Hughes? As in money.) Worst joke of the night. Like making an omelette, you have to crack a few eggs to get the right blend.

A BAD week in Wales continued on “The X Factor”. If ever there was a wrong song choice it was Lloyd’s “I’m Still Standing”. When he was sent packing back to the green, green grass of home, the triumphant semi-final-bound last four strolled on stage during his farewell number — talk about rubbing it in.

A real Jim Bowen “here’s what you could have won” moment. Stacey and Joe — you’ve got the time it takes the bored to evolve to realise it’s between you two for the bullseye.

MICHELLE aimed a gobful at Tony in court. He was remanded in custody. Bitter ex-wife Carla consoled herself in Glenfiddich from his office drawer. Hic.

IN “EastEnders”, Lucas thickened the plot when he bumped off another ghost from the Christian’s past by burying Owen next to Trina’s tree.

Something tells me that could come back to haunt him. Mute barmaid Tracey actually chalked up a sentence or two in the Vic. More than Jimmy White managed in the jungle.

Soap roar: “I’d rather eat nails than watch you make the wrong choice . . . again.” Audrey on Gail’s engagement to Joe.

Soap bore: Corrie’s Claire and her latest crusade to win friends. It wasn’t that long ago she was threatening to throw herself off the hospital roof.
