FORMER Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown will give his loyal hometown fans an early Christmas present when he storms the stage at the Manchester Arena on Saturday.
The winter tour is his first one since the release of sixth studio album “My Way” which was recorded at London’s Battery Studios where the Roses recorded their debut album 20 years ago.
Since he left the group to go it alone, Brown has enjoyed huge success including winning NME Godlike Genius and Q Legend awards.
Lowline lowdown
MANCHESTER quartet Lowline are intent on carving out a place to call their own in the city’s rich indie rock tapestry.
Their debut album is due out in spring following brilliantly received singles “Outside”, “Monitors” and “Sound of Music”.
While they may sound excellent on CD, it’s on stage where Lowline really come to life. Head to Manchester’s Deaf Institute on Friday to catch Lowline in action.

SCOTTISH singer songwriter Dougie MacLean is one of the country’s greatest musical treasures.
His international reputation as an extraordinary performer has led to concerts at venue’s such as New York’s Carnegie Hall, Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall and London’s Festival Theatre.
MacLean’s music has been used in Hollywood films, TV shows and theatre and he has been the subject of a BBC3 documentary.
