BEATS: WHILE 2009 provided us with a host of musical treats, rest assured that next year promises to be even better.

For a start, Jedward are coming to Tokyo Oldham on January 16 — a night that will surely go down as one the most memorable local shows ever.

The rest of the “X Factor” finalists are also due to storm the stage at the Roscoe Street club over the next few weeks.

If reality, TV rejects aren’t really your thing, fear not, there’s plenty of other stuff to look forward to.

If pop music floats your boat, 2010 is a good year for big names visiting Manchester.

First up is the wonderfully eccentric Lady Gaga, who hits Manchester Arena on February 18.

She’s given us irresistibly catchy tunes such as “Bad Romance’’, ‘‘Poker Face’’ and “Just Dance’’ and kept us just as enthralled with her bizarre dress sense.

Also at the Arena on March 5 is double trouble from loud-mouthed popstrel Lily Allen and rapper Dizzee Rascal.

The pair decided to team up for a joint tour giving fans two great shows for the price of one.

Jordan’s ex-husband Peter Andre will play at Manchester Apollo on March 11 and Leona Lewis will bring her impressive vocal chords to the Arena on June 4.

JLS, who were “X Factor” runners up in 2008, proved losing to winner Alexandra Burke didn’t matter a jot.

The quartet will play the Arena on December 16 to the delight of screaming fans who will no doubt be vying for a look at those famous six packs.

And if dancing is more your thing, check out “Britain’s Got Talent” winners Diversity at the Apollo on March 27.

Scream metallers Glassjaw play the Manchester Academy on January 24 while American emo crew Vampire Weekend hit the Apollo on February 8.

Oldham trio Twisted Wheel, who have supported Oasis and Paul Wellar in recent times, branch out on their own tour which stops at Manchester’s Academy 2 on February 12.

Editors return to the Apollo on March 16 in support of new album “In This Light and On This Evening”.

Over at Lancashire County Cricket Club there will be showstopping sets by Green Day on June 16 and Muse on September 4.
