BEATS: MOULD-breaking indie rockers The Maccabees will headline the infamous NME Awards Tour which rolls into Manchester this week.
Joining them on the road will be Bombay Bicycle Club, The Big Pink and The Drums.
The NME Awards Tour has always been a fertile breeding ground for breaking the best new talent with the likes of Ting Tings, Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys, The Cribs, Bloc Party and The Killers having graced previous rosters.
Highly acclaimed south London based five piece The Maccabees are already a firm favourite on the festival circuit and are currently enjoying the success of their second album “Wall Of Arms”.
Industry darlings Bombay Bicycle Club, who released their first album “I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose” earlier this year, are fresh from Glastonbury and supporting The Pixies.
The Big Pink, duo, Milo Cordell and Robbie Furze, have already won the prestigious NME Radar Award for best new act and have just released their debut album “A Brief History Of Love”.
Grabbing the coveted opening slot are New York retro rockers The Drums.
You can catch all four bands in action at the Manchester Academy on Saturday.
