SWEDISH rock band Europe are hitting the UK on a whistlestop tour to promote their new album “Last Look At Eden”.
Best known for their 1986 anthem “The Final Countdown”, the band have returned with a heavier blues metal sound. If you fancy rocking out to Europe songs old and new, head to Manchester’s Academy 2 on Friday.
David Ford keeps his swelling fanbase loyal with regular Tweets and quality music.
His impromptu performance at last year’s Latitude Festival was deemed one of the event’s highlights by Q Magazine and at a recent sell out show in London, fans from as far afield as Dallas, Milan and Boston turned up for the Bloomsbury Theatre show.
David’s new album “Let The Hard Times Roll” was released earlier this month and he will be showcasing tracks from it at tonight’s gig at the Witchwood, Ashton.
SUNDERLAND brothers Peter and David Brewis set up Field Music in 2004 with the simple aim of writing songs.
The band’s line up, at one time or another, has included members of both Maximo Park and The Futureheads.
Guitarist Kev Dosdale and bassist Ian Black join the brothers for live shows nowadays.
Debut album “Write Your Own History” was released in 2006 followed by “Tones Of Town” the year after. Their third and most critically acclaimed third album “Field Music (Measure)” came out earlier this month.
Head to Salford’s Islington Mill on Friday to catch them live.
PSYCHEDELIC glam rockers Big Elf will bring a touch of class to Manchester’s Academy 3 tonight.
The quartet toured with Dream Theater last year and are set to continue on the support slot next month. Opening for Bigelf tonight are Canadians Priestess who blasted on to the music scene in 2004.
Sharing the stage with heavy hitters such as Black Label Society, Converge, Mastodon, Motorhead, Gwar and Megadeth brought new fans to the Priestess door.
