Peggy Sue get offer they couldn’t refuse

BEATS: PEGGY Sue only signed their record deal three months ago but the hard-working band are set to release their debut album in April.

For the past 18 months, the trio — Olly Joyce (drums, percussion, banjo) Rosa Slade (vocals, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, percussion, accordion, piano) and Katy Young (vocals, guitar, percussion, accordion, mouth trumpet, glockenspiel) — have been booking their own shows and recording their own tracks.

But when Wichita Recordings stepped in and offered them a deal they couldn’t say no.

Support slots with Laura Marling, Mumford and Sons and The Macabees have helped swell Peggy Sue’s fanbase ahead of the release of “Fossils And Other Phantoms” next month.

The band will support Local Natives on their UK tour which calls in at Manchester’s Club Academy on Thursday.
