BEATS: LAST year they played at Glastonbury. Bestival and T in the Park as well as supporting the Killers — so 2010 has got a lot to live up to for Passion Pit.
The Massachusetts quintet’s name is slang for drive-in cinemas in America.
Passion Pit was originally formed as a solo project in late 2007 by frontman Michael Angelakos.
He started writing songs for his then girlfriend for Valentine’s Day and these became a big part of the band’s debut EP “Chunk of Change”.
Debut album “Manners” was released last year and the band —which is now made up of Michael, Ian Hultquist (keyboards/guitar), Ayad Al Adhamy (synth/samples), Jeff Apruzzese (bass/synth bass) and Nate Donmoyer (drums) — launched it with a New York boat party.
