BEATS: IF it’s uplifting infectious punk pop you’re after, The Paddingtons are the band for you.
The Hull quintet — Tom Atkin (vocalist), Martin Hines (guitarist), Josh Hubbard (guitarist) and brothers Lloyd (bassist) and Grant Dobbs (drummer) — have been making music for eight years. Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty is one of their biggest fans and the band have four top 40 singles and a host of sold out tours under their belt.
The lads became disillusioned with the music industry so in 2007 they decided to take things into their own hands and created independent label Mama-Bear Records.
The Paddingtons are well known for their hugely energetic live shows and their willingness to play all venues.
They will play the Manchester Roadhouse on Thursday.
