BEATS: WHILE nothing could match the experience of seeing Morrissey live on stage, The Smiths Indeed strive to give fans of the Manchester miserablist a night to remember.
The Liverpool-based tribute act aim to recreate the atmosphere and excitement of an 1980s Smiths gig complete with gladioli, open shirts and singalongs.
Their current tour — which calls at the Manchester Academy on Saturday — marks the 25th anniversary of The Smiths seminal album “Meat is Murder”.
The lads will play the album in full as well as a selection of The Smiths greatest hits.
Since forming in 2005, The Smiths Indeed — who took their name from a fanzine — have built up a formidable reputation as the leading tribute act to the hugely successful Manchester band.
The Smiths Indeed were also behind the recent Facebook campaign to give The Smiths their first-ever British number one on the 25th anniversary of “How Soon Is Now”, one of their most successful records.
