BEATS NEWS EXTRA:

LA rockers Rebel Motorcycle Club are all set to release their fifth album — the first to be put out from their own record label Abstract Dragon.

“Beat The Devil’s Tattoo” also marks the band’s first album with new drummer Leah Shapiro.

You can catch them live at Manchester’s Ritz tonight.

Shuffle on down
THEY’VE been described as UB40 meets De La Soul, but Manchester band Kid British refuse to pigeon hole their sound.

The quartet — who will play at Manchester club The Factory on Friday — are a product of the iPod generation — youngsters who listen to their music on shuffle giving them a varied blend of influences.

Their uplifting mash-up of indie, reggae, ska and hip hop won them a support slot with The Specials who asked for them personally.

Debut single “Our House is Dadless”, a Madness sampling tale of modern UK living, won Single of the Week on XFM and got heavy airtime on Radio One.

The lads took part in Warchild’s charity single”I Got Soul” alongside Tinchy Stryder, N-Dubz and Pixie Lott.

Debut album “It Was This or Football” will be released in two halves and the band will release World Cup single “Winner/Lets have a Party” in June.

Call on the Brigade
IF it’s no nonsense, hard hitting metal you’re after, Brigade are your band. The lads — Will Simpson (vocals) James Plant (guitar) Naoto Hori (bass) and Andrew Kearton (drums) — have two albums under their belt and they’re now working on the third.

They recently celebrated their sixth anniversary as a band and will hit Manchester’s Roadhouse on Saturday.
