Is it better the devil you know?

WHAT KATI DID NEXT:

Do you always vote for the same party?

I do. I know that sounds like a major cop-out on my part but I’m sure that as I was brought up Labour and I have continued to vote Labour, I will probably end up doing so in this election and I’m not at all sure why.

Well, that’s a bit of a lie, I have watched the debates, I have read the manifestos and in many ways all our politicians are so very much alike it’s almost not worth taking the time to think about it anew.

So Labour it probably is, then. I mean, when I really think about what they have done since 1997, I know there are some terrible bits, some really terrible bits, but the majority of it has been okay.

How much better would the Tories have been, or the Lib-Dems or The Greens?

Since Mr Brown stepped up to the mark, he’s been hit with some awful circumstances.

The very first day he arrived at Number 10, he had the floods, then the next was the Glasgow airport terrorist attack, after that he had a world recession and then so near to the election he got all that volcanic ash piled on top of him. I bet he felt he could have done without that.

I’m wondering if the man had enjoyed a clear run at it he wouldn’t have made that enormous hash of the 10p tax.

Mind you, let’s give him a little credit, he held up his hands and apologised about that one, which is quite odd for politicians.

However, the worst thing about new politicians or parties coming into power is that people want to make their mark and by doing so, we, the average punter, are forced to change every time a new minister arrives.

Let’s be honest, with the recent expenses debacle there were a few change-arounds weren’t there?

It is just easier voting for who you’ve always voted for, isn’t it?

It means that you always know what you’re going to get.

Not a lot maybe, but not a lot of what you know is often better than not a lot of the new stuff.

Change isn’t necessarily a good thing. Somebody should let Mr Cameron know.
