BOLTON indie rockers Cherry Ghost are one of the only acts to play on Later With Jools Holland before releasing any material.
The five piece — Simon Aldred, Jim Rhodes, Ben Parsons, Phill Anderson and Grenville Harrop — formed in 2005 and have gone from strength to strength ever since.
Their first album “Thirst for Romance”, released in July, 2007, got to number seven, giving the lads their first taste of success.
Follow up “Beneath This Burning Shoreline” is set for release next month so the band are hitting the road to debut some new tracks.
In early 2008, the boys won an Ivor Novello Award in the Best Contemporary Song for “People Help the People”.
They recently toured with the Doves and are preparing for a stint at Glastonbury on June 26 and a support slot with The Coral later this year.
The band will play songs old and new at St John’s Church in Salford on Monday.
