The metalcore quartet — Andrew Carey, Craig Chaney, Josh James and Kyle Mims — from Jacksonville, Florida, named their band after the street in which The Simpsons live.

They started making music in 1999 and debut album “Losing All Hope Is Freedom” came out two years later.

Their fifth album, “Almost Home”, was released last September and the band will spend most of this year on tour.

They’ve toured with the likes of Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria so if you like your music live and loud, don’t miss them in Manchester next week.

AVI Buffalo was once just a kid named Avi — short for Avigdor Zahner-Isenberg.

But from the moment he started playing guitar — because his parents wouldn’t buy him a Game Boy — it was clear that his life was about to change.

Before long, Avi had met drummer Sheridan Riley, pianist Rebecca Coleman and bassist Arin Fazio and his band, playing retro blues with modern touches, was complete.

Catch them in action at Manchester’s Deaf Institute on Thursday.

FOLK rock and dancefloor friendly are not phrases which usually go together.

But Oregon quartet Hockey are enthralling audiences with their catchy tracks.

Successful festival appearances last year saw them being compared to The Strokes and LCD Soundsystem. The band performs tracks from new album, “Mind Chaos”, at Manchester’s The Factory on Friday.
