BEATS: TWICKENHAM rockers Noah and The Whale are well known for their unique brand of calming indie folk.
The quintet — Charlie Fink, Tom Hobden, Matt Owens, Fred Abbott and Jack Hamson — started making music in 2006.
Debut album “Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down” was released in August, 2008 which featured former members Laura Marling and Emmy the Great.
The band have been compared to Neutral Milk Hotel, Bonnie Prince Billy and Belle & Sebastian and the lads cite punk rock and folk as their main influences.
Second album “The First Days of Spring” was released alongside a film by Charlie Fink which is designed to run alongside the CD.
In September, 2009, the band’s equipment was stolen from a car park after a gig at Manchester’s Club Academy. It was recovered three months later.
Last year, the band announced they had started work on third album “Old Joy”.
