Stevie Wonder, Manchester Arena, tonight
BEATS: We’ve all sung along to “Superstition”, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours” and “For Once In My Life”.
The Michigan-born crooner signed up with Tamla Motown when he was 11-years-old and had his first hit “Fingertips” in 1963 when he turned 13.
The multi-talented global superstar is best known for his vocal ability but he can also impress on the harmonica, drums and bass guitar.
Over the years, Stevie has sold 100 million albums and won 22 Grammy Awards — more than any other solo artist.
He won an Oscar for Best Original Song for his 1984 hit “I Just Called to Say I Love You” from the movie “The Woman in Red”. Stevie’s track “Happy Birthday” was used to fuel his campaign to make Martin Luther King’s birthday a holiday in the US and in 2009, he was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace.
His most famous album, “Songs In The Key Of Life”, won three Grammy Awards when it was released in 1976 and ranks 56th on Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
