Goodbye Wayne, hello Andy

WHAT KATI DID NEXT: IS wimbledon on yet? You know that bastion of the summer months here in Blighty. All that strawberries and cream, rain holding up play, Cliff Richard entertaining the troops, as it were.
Well, you wouldn’t know about it would you? The BBC normally hammers Wimbledon, and yet it has slipped under the radar this time, due to the huge sporting event we call The World Cup.
Well, we now know that the “boredom” the England squad felt, sunning themselves out there in South Africa, going on Safari, being paid a fortune to do a job they love, penetrated too deep and they have flown home, tail between their legs. No, please don’t boo, Rooney doesn’t like it.
But, now they have been transferred out of the competition and back to the families, that they “missed” so much, we will have to place all our hopes on to the next best thing.
Andy Murray. Yes the Scottish fella that we have adopted as our own will surely inject some “murraymania” into our summer.
Now Henman is sitting back commentating as opposed to sitting back playing, we should change Henman Hill to Murray Mound shouldn’t we? Its only fair to Andy isn’t it? I mean this poor guy not only has his own hopes pinned on that championship and the hopes of his family and his coach, he also has the hopes of the whole country in his racquet.
He must know now that if he fails in anyway at all, we will not only boo him, calm down Wayne, but we will drag him through the mud in our press, we will dissect every single one of his wrong moves and plaster every mistake he has ever made all over the news.
Why on earth would you become a sportsman for team GB. It must be hard enough forcing yourself to get up at five in the morning to head out to the training field.
If you fail, we, the great British public, will turn its back on you. We’re really good at that, do you remember the hanging of Beckham? I bet he does.
However, what’s good to know is that if you do eventually win something we will hold you high and proclaim our longstanding belief in you.
That’s definitely worth all that villification. Isn’t it?
