Feelgood fun at festival

A HEADY mix of entertainment, food and culture — that’s the promise of the this year’s Rocdale Feelgood Festival.
A host of performers will take to the stage at Rochdale Town Hall this Friday and Saturday, while running alongside is a two-day food market complete with live cookery demonstrations.
The Bluetones headlined last year’s event and this year, chart toppers The Lightning Seeds are top of the bill.
Main man Ian Broudie is best know for footballing anthem “Three Lions”, but he also penned hits such as “The Life of Riley” and “Lucky You”.
London-based funk hip-hop act The Herbaliser, country pop stars The Travelling Band, talent show winners Ellen and the Escapades, rockers Dead Kestrel, Middleton crooner Kirsty Almeida, songstresses Karima Francis and Catherine Tyldesley and DJ Dave Sweetmore will also perform.
Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo will be cooking up a storm and there will be an exhibition of the borough’s contribution to music history featuring artefacts from Joy Division and the late John Peel.
