DREAMY quartet Delays say their fourth album “Star Tiger, Star Ariel” is their most personal release ever.

The album tells of loss, discovery and magic in and around their hometown of Southampton and sees the band return to their roots both lyrically and musically.

The band — brother Greg and Aaron Gilbert, Colin Fox and Rowly — first entered the public consciousness in 2004 with the release of their debut album “Faded Seaside Glamour”.

They soon became renowned for their distinctive guitar and synths combos and Greg’s equally distinctive falsetto vocals and were invited to support both Franz Ferdinand and the Manic Street Preachers.

Tracks from the second album, “You See Colours”, were used on TV shows and adverts, leading to Delays appearing at most major music festivals in the summer of 2006. “Everything’s the Rush” was released in 2008 and the band have been pretty quiet until now.

You can catch them at Manchester’s Academy 3 on Friday.
