Kings of Leon; Manchester Arena, Monday
Their fifth album “Come Around Sundown” flew off the shelves when it was released in October and tickets for this tour sold out almost as soon as they’d gone on sale.
Singles such as “Sex On Fire”, “Use Somebody” — both from fourth album “Only By the Night” — and “Radioactive” have seen the Tennessee rockers catapulted to global success.
Brothers Anthony Caleb Followill (vocals, guitar), Ivan Nathan Followill (drums) and Michael Jared Followill (bass), along with cousin Cameron Matthew Followill (guitar), formed in 1999.
Each of the band members is more widely known by their middle name. Over the past 11 years, Kings of Leon’s sound has developed from a bluesy Southern vibe to all out rock.
In the UK, the band has achieved a host of top 40 singles, two BRIT Awards and three chart-topping albums.
