HIP hop rock reggae outfit Big Audio Dynamite are hitting the road after a 25 year hiatus.
The original line up — formed by Mick Jones in the wake of The Clash — will play the Manchester Academy on Friday.
Credited with popularising sampling techniques and fusing rock guitars with a beat, the band has influenced acts such as Gorillaz, Beastie Boys and Chemical Brothers.

THE indie quartet originally formed as a covers band at school but it wasn’t long before they were writing their own stuff.
After playing a host of venues around Dundee, the band were signed to independent label Two Thumbs and released their self titled EP in 2006. Tracks soon began to receive regular radio airplay and their debut album Hats Off To The Buskers topped the charts in 2007. Second album Which Bitch and third effort Bread and Circuses haven’t fared as well but The View have retained a reputation for impressive live performances.
