THIS eclectic band delved into tough territory last night for the electro dance genre — performing live.
But the Mercury-nominated and recently-crowned Best Newcomers at the Q Awards, played a geeky, weird and technically perfect set in Manchester last night.
The 50-minute performance was about how the Edinburgh-formed band could take a wide range of musical instruments to their limits and produce robotic and beautiful tunes.
The quartet, dressed in matching Hawaiian-style shirts, proved they were too cool for school as instruments primary pupils would encounter were used throughout.
Out came the maracas, as well as the tambourine and bells, on a night which was the band’s biggest headline gig yet and they gave an A-star performance.
Tracks such as “Hail Bop” and “Default” went down a treat as did the soothing journey of “Skies Over Cairo”.
This band are destined to prove festival favourites in years to come.
