Dutch violinist Simone Lamsma is one of classical music’s rising stars.
Last night she made her debut with the Halle in its Opus One series - and left the audience in no doubt why she is so highly admired.
The 28-year-old vistuoso gave a breathtaking rendition of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, holding eager listeners spellbound with a sensational, energy-charged performance.
She plays with great maturity, her performance boosted by the sympathetic accompaniment of an orchestra on top form.
