ROMANTIC classical music gave way to love songs from the movies and musical theatre in a Valentine’s night special.
Soprano Natasha Marsh joined forces with tenor James Edwards, making his debut with the Halle, under the baton of Stephen Bell, for a concert packed with romantic music in this latest Pops season offering.
The evening started with the rousing “Wedding March”, written by Mendelssohn for Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and further beautiful pieces such as included Elgar’s beautiful “Salut d’Amour”. Pianist Paul Janes did a tremendous job with “Love Story,” evoking images of the 1970 film classic.
